THE THOUGHT PROCCESS.
For some reason, I have been thinking about the process of our thoughts and how it could help, or will I say, build us into what God wants, or ruin us forever.
The thought process of humans is a very important part of their being, or shall I say, in their walk with God.
Many people have been ruined beyond their wildest imaginations. Hence the importance of guiding our thoughts, which is exactly self-discipline.
To be able to control our thoughts is one hell of a fight that can never be achieved without the strong will of wanting to do things right as God wants it.
Let's look at the book of Philippians 4:8.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
This passage clearly has a purpose, and that purpose is to make you think of the right things. Truth be told, when you begin to think about things that will glorify God, you begin to live a life that brings about God's goodness. This now becomes a habit for you, which makes you love things that edify.
We must guide our thoughts with everything we have. We must protect ourselves from external signals that instigate dirty thoughts. What are these signals? wrong TV programs, wrong secular music, romantic sitcoms, pornography wrong friends or associates , and anything that does not edifies.
Timothy 1:17
For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.
As a child of God, you should not be timid. But look at it this way, timidity comes as a result of your thoughts. The power given was to have good thoughts that bring about a blessing spiritually. It makes you love and not hate. Above all, the last key word is self-discipline. Self-discipline starts with what you think.
(Proverb 23:7) talks about the process of what your thoughts are or what you think comes out physically by actions or deeds.
Romans 1:28
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they might do what ought not to be done.
The outline of this passage is so clear (*THEY DID NOT THINK IT WAS WORTHWHILE TO RETAIN THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD*). The more we remove God from our everyday life, the more useless and wild our thoughts become, and when this happens, what comes next is depravity.
We have seen people who continue doing wrong even while being scolded or imprisoned. Truth be told, the way your thoughts go will either build or ruin your life. Watch over what you process in your thoughts. This is the real self-discipline. You will begin to feel God's presence more when your thoughts are centered on him.
*What consumes your mind will eventually control your life*.
Isaiah 6:23 You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace, for it trusts in you.
Let your thoughts be subjected to the things of God and allow God to regenerate your life through the power of the Holy Spirit to keep standing for Jesus. I will continue with this topic next week God willing keep standing for Jesus like I always say I love you but God loves you more.
